WALNUT TREE TERRACE
A terraced area surrounding the very tree to which Robert E. Lee tied his famous horse 'Traveller', when he took breakfast on the morning of the 1st Battle of Fredericksburg. Situated on the South Lawn in front of the Manor, this Black Walnut tree has survived the test of time and would be a fitting venue statement for your future as Mr & Mrs. The paved area is ideal for welcome receptions, garden teas and small catered dinner parties.
This tranquil and relaxing terrace is beautifully finished in slate and stone, and overlooks the barn and pastures. It comes complete with built in gas-grill, elegant outdoor furniture and surrounded by pretty seasonal flowerbeds. Gather here for after ceremony cocktail receptions or perhaps a BBQ style informal rehearsal dinner.
This stone paved area is ideal for larger events. Carved into the lower grounds of the Manor's estate it just begs to be tented. This terraced area looks up at the Manor and is framed by beautiful trees and conifers. Without dancing, the terrace can host up to 200 guests for a seated event. With dancing, we recommend 150 guests.
